So I went out and got a mini-DVI to VGA. I plug it in and it works with no problems. But here are the problems I'm running into:
1) I don't mirror the display. So basically it's like dual monitors with my TV serving as a second monitor. Is there a way I can get VLC to go fullscreen just on the TV? Every time I try, it defaults to doing fullscreen on my Macbook even though it's open on the TV.
2) When I try to mirror the image, it won't take up the whole TV because the resolution is not supported. It leaves black boxes on each side of the screen. I would rather it take up the whole screen as to not get screen burn in.
Any way to get it to play in fullscreen mode on the extended TV/Monitor?
