limited use

I recently upgraded to os-10.5.5 and now i can't access my programs via my desktop icons with my cordless mighty mouse. i can only access them with my logitech mouse by right clicking and clicking open. i'm a relative newbie to macs, any suggestions?

Silver M1 iMac 512/16/8/8 macOS 11.6
Go to Systems Preferences>Keyboard & Mouse>Mouse and set up the right click and other buttons as you see fit. Right click and open will work with the MM if it is set up correctly.
