Hello this is my first post. I want to add 2 1gig sticks in my mac, It already has 2 256mbs in it. Does it matter if i put the 1 gig sticks in beside the 256? or should i swap them so their in the 1 and 2 slots and put the 256 beside them. I hope this makes sense.

1GB sticks will not work ion a PowerMac G4 as they accept up to PC133 512MB only. In a G5 install the 2 x 1GB modules in the first two slots.

I don't think it would kill the machine. Here is what Apple say:-

If this beauty was mine I would put in another 2x1GB modules lol to get full 4GB, all in matched pairs.
