Hello, I am a new member. I have a MacBook Pro 17" since one year. The original disk drive is a 93.16 GB Hitachi HTS721010G9SA00.
I have to install Logic Studio but the disk space is not sufficient! I need of course a bigger one. I would like to know what is the suggested Disk Drive to install (through Mac Store?) and how to manage later the data recovery from the old Machintosh HD to the new one. OS installed: Mac OS X 10.5.5 (9F33).
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you're going to have Apple install it, you may as well get as big a drive as you can afford. I recommend a 350 GB or larger drive for future use.

As for backing up your data for recovery, there are several programs that can clone and restore the contents of your drive to the new one.

"SuperDuper" and "Carbon Copy Cloner".

Both require using an external drive to make the backup.

Regards.
