Greetings

So I'm watching this interactive video from the BBC and after a short period, the screen dims. Moving the mouse restores it to its former brightness.

How can I prevent it happening in the first place?

If Dims stands for brightness reduction, then the third option box should be left unchecked.

Hello again

I've done the un-ticking thing, but the screen still dims. I'm using an Intel iMac, and the problem is that the screen dims after a period (I have not timed it), but it's a nuisance and the only way is to move the mouse to restore it back to normal....

Can anyone offer a possible solution, please?

Cheers

That's the place - make sure you've unchecked the right one.

'Automatically reduce the brightness of the display before display sleep.'

Okey Coke...

I had un-ticked the wrong one. It's my age, y'know....

Hopefully, it'll now behave itself.

Thanks again M

you can try a free app called caffeine. It stops your screen from dimming while it's enabled.
