Man the more I look at that iPod shuffle the more I like it.. that tiny little thing is quite a smooth piece of equipment.. I bet those people that bought other flash based mp3 players are kicking themselves now.. It's really tempting to get my wife one of these.. maybe get me one also! :)

Once again Apple sets the bar!

The new iShuffle looks like another winner. Gonna have to get one!

My only issue is not being able to see the tracks on a display. but I have an iPod so it doesn't really matter

it seems apple have come to their senses and submitted to the world of USB. At last they move away from the little found firewire as their main connectivity.
If i didn't have an iPod already i'd consider one.
Is it still gonna hold standard data? Would suck if they took that away.

Anyway, good work and great innovation

Im considering one even though I do have an iPod.. my bulky 3G iPod 30Gig is awesome and works for most everything except working out.. it's just too big.. now the shuffle.. that is definitely small enough and is perfect for working out.. now if H2O creates a waterproof case for it.. man Im there!

Pretty neat. Wicked price too.
I already have a 4G 20gb iPod though.

I sometimes like to pick a song out, and this thing lacks that capability.

It would be better with a screen. Even a tiny one that shows track # and name.

From apple.com

"With up to 1GB of storage space(4), iPod shuffle happily accommodates files along with your music."

Yeah and if you were at the keynote, you could have walked right down the street and picked several up at the Apple store :)

They will not be going away from FireWire but they did for this because USB is a smaller thing to install into the iPod than a FireWire dongle. You also have less need for FireWire for 512mb and 1GB than you do with a 40 gb iPod

Yeah no doubts about that. I really am thinking about getting one of those things.. we'll see what my wife thinks :) And if H2O comes out with a waterproof case for it.. perfect for swimming, surfing, wakeboarding, jogging in the rain, taking a bath.. anything! It would be quite sweet.

its official, Im getting a 1 gig, Im waiting til the 22nd to order though, cause it wont process/ship before then. I think its cool that they went usb, cause I use my ipod as an external hd to transfer files from school, and I hate moving the macs at school to get to the FW ports on back, the usb ports on the keyboard will be fine. I cant wait!!!
MOF, I may order it tomorrow as the anticipation is killing me. I wonder if theyll be doing any engraving or any other personalization.

I am gonna get one, to me it will be like an expensive flash memory, as i need one anyways, and it would be nice to be able to bring that to school for afew songs and not have the big bulk of a 3G in my pocket.

I'm also getting a Shuffle for listening @ school. Mostly because I'm too worried about my mini getting stolen, and it's smaller than my mini and will hold enough songs to last me the bus ride.
