hi,

I hope someone can help,

I have my home folder redirected to an external drive as I had outgrown my 250gb internal disk. This worked fine until recently when each time my mac restarts it appends the external mount point with a 1 and then my profile is all messed up.

I used the following to fix it each time but now its become a pain in the ***.

Duplicate mount point in /Volumes after unexpected restart

Can anyone help me find a way to fix it for good and show me a better way of doing things?

My imac is intel running leopard and my drive is a maxtor one touch4.

i was going to avoid upgrading the internal drive as it was cheaper to buy an external.

I was already considering this though as I am very worried about losing stuff alright.
