Hi all!
Ive had a really easy transition to Mac except for this little problem with my HP Photosmart C4385 printer I got from Apple. It was almost free because of the student deal when you buy a Mac. I used the install disk which didn't work and directed me to their website to download a driver. I ran the driver and it still didn't work. I will get almost completely done with the installation and it will say "Cannot find device":Shouting: . I have messed around with this for a couple of weeks and cant get anything to work. Just wondering if there is a way i can manually set up the printer, or if anyone has had a similar experience and worked through it.
thanks for putting up with my rambling :Smirk:

Have you tried going into System Preferences -> Print and Fax and clicking on the little + sign and adding it that way.

Also is this the kind of thing I could call Apple Care for? I just figured since they sold it they might have some knowledge of the product.

No problem!

Hopefully that resolves it then. Check back in and let us know if that fixes it.

dabears34 - I've had the exact same problem! Exactly - it sounds like. So, did Apple take it back? I just tried to return it online, and it said we were past the 21 day return period by ONE DAY. And of course, it took us 2 weeks to get the dang package from FedEx. So I'm waiting for Apple Customer Support to open this morning, and they'd better take it back, gosh darn it!!

But if you get a chance - please confirm if they admitted it's a lemon of a printer. Thx.
