There's no such thing as a "Mac" either, but we use that abbreviation all the time.
Well, Apple doesn't sell Macintosh mini or Macintosh Pro machines do they? In fact you cannot use
http://www.apple.com/macintosh to find the Macintosh computers that Apple sells.
Here are the valid links for their
Macs. The bonus is that this forum fills in text for the raw URLs I entered. Apple sure uses Mac a great deal in the computer names.
Apple - Mac Pro
Apple - Mac mini
Apple - MacBook
Apple - MacBook Pro
Apple - MacBook Air
They also no longer sell the Macintosh OS!
OK, type Macintosh in the Help of the Finder and you'll find mentions of the Macintosh computers.
As for iTouch, I don't really care as long as I know what a person is talking about. But, I do understand the issue here. Mine is when people say the bought a MAC from the Mac company. The upper case is wrong, and it is Apple Inc. or just Apple. You'd think people would know what high profile company name created their new fancy computer.
By the way, one could say, 'I just bought a Mac from
the Mac Store'.
P.S. This was a fun and silly distraction.
