Ok, I'm kind of a nooby. I can successfully rip, shrink, and burn a dvd that will play in any dvd player that I own. The problem that I have is that on some occasions (not all) when I am backing up one of my DVD's that is larger than 7 gigs, the disc turns out choppy. Here is the software that I use:
Mac the Ripper
DVD2onex
NTI DragonBurn or Toast 6.02 ( sometimes, I haven't had the best luck w/toast)
I have an Emac 1 ghz, 80 gig, 256 ram. Running panther 10.3.7
I know that I need more memory and I guess that I am asking an opinion here. Could lack of memory be the cause? I always burn at the slowest speed possible and have burned many dvd's with no issues.
Minus this issue, I love my Mac and could never go back to the lame pc world!
Thanks,
