Is Apple Care the best warranty to get?
I agree that you should definitely have a warranty. A warranty is an investment, but having one will let you relax about your
other (considerably larger) investment: your Mac.
Of course, I've never owned a Mac so I've never had any experiences with Apple Care. I am about to get my first Mac, probably a MacBook Pro, but I am waiting for the impending refresh. I fully intend to purchase Apple Care.
Here's a related issue I'm curious about: Does anyone here have experience with other warranty plans that provide coverage for accidental damage?
MacMall sells
another 3-year plan through a company called Service Net for the same price as Apple Care (with the student discount). This plan claims to include accidental damage coverage, but I cannot find much information about their services. So far all I've found is the company's
website.
I'm keen on Apple Care because of the ease of service. From what I've heard, dealing with Apple seems to be a pleasurable experience, even for repairs and the like. However, accidental damage coverage for the same price seems like it could be a better option.
Anyone heard of Service Net before?
