Hey Y'all,

Im new with macs. I got a Macbook Pro April of 2007. I was just wondering if there is a free photo editing software out there online that I could use to cut out portions of a photo and piece other pictures from photos together to make a picture with all of them in it as one.

Sorry if my post sounds stupid but again Im still new.

Do you mean Pixelmator? If so, that's a $59 package.

All that stinks! 100% free, go to Gimp.net mac AND windows.
Almost as powerful as photoshop, nice interface but needs some getting used to. :)

Clearly you haven't seen Pixelmator - it makes The Gimp look like a tinker toy.

Can you download extra brushes for pixelmator like you can with PS and GIMP?

I haven't tried that yet. Why don't you download the demo? I think it's a free 30 day trial or something like that.

I feel spoiled. I have Pixelmator and yet I haven't even touched it since I installed it. >_<"

Coordinates, anyone?

I need a photo editing program that will let me divide an image into different sections for the purpose of making a clickable image map. To do that, I need to be able to set coordinates. Is there a free or cheap photo editing program out there that will let me do that on Leopards?

There are LOTS of good image editing programs for the Mac. Here is a partial list - of course, many of them are not free:

Photoshop Elements
Photoshop CS2

GraphicConverter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/xd/public/c...lkPTE5Mw_.html)

GIMP (GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program)

ImageWell (ImageWell, the Fast & Lean Image Editor)
ChocoFlop (ChocoFlop - Non-destructive image editing application for your mac)
PhotoComplete (PhotoComplete by funkypixels software - the easy to use photo editor for Mac OS X)
Seashore (Seashore - About)
Pixelmator (Pixelmator)
Acorn (Flying Meat: Acorn)

LiveQuartz (RhapSoft - LiveQuartz)

...and of course...

iPhoto (which has quite a nice set of editing tools)
