According to iStat, my battery health is at 44%. My question is what does that mean really, and would that warrant an under warranty replacement? Thanks!

I don't believe batteries are covered. It is in their nature to get worse and worse then die. If yours in a MBP 2.2GHz then I guess it is over 1 year old anyway.

unless it is under 300 cycles then they might replace it for you, but the warranty does not cover batteries unless they are defective.

Same issue here. Here is what iStat reads for my 2.33 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo:

Health: 39%
Cycles: 381
Charge: 84%
0:47 remaining

My laptop is less than a year old. So, as I read it, even though the battery is 84% charged, it only has 47 minutes remaining.

Is this typical for this battery? I had the 1st generation MBP and the G4 before it and they did not have this problem. My usage pattern has not changed so the cycles shouldn't matter (right?).

Even when it's plugged in the remaining time drops. Time for a new battery or is something else going on here?

Best to contact them as I never had a problem getting them replaced.
