I have a user who is using Mac OS 10.2.8, Mail 1.2.5 and Word X. She e-mails files to PC users with Office 2003 and no one can open the Word documents she sends. I have found references to "Windows Friendly Attachments" in other posts yet I cannot find this option anywhere in her mail program. Any help or other ideas?

Ask her to make sure the save default is set simply as .doc and PCs shoukld be able to read Word X. Has she updated Word X at all from the Mactopia web site?

i had her save as .doc and .rtf and PC users are still unable to open her word documents in either format (default is .doc). it gives an file conversion / encoding message, and no matter which option they choose it opens unreadable. i am unsure if she has updated via mactopia. i will ask her.

Word X is getting long in the tooth and came without XML Converters and certainly Word 2007 and maybe 2003 will not read standard Word X documents.
