Hey guys..me again. I recently sold my iBook to a friend and I was wondering how i can change the short name?it still holds my name and i would want to change it.do i have to reformat it or something?

I just go in to system preferences accounts (make sure the paddle-lock is undone) then click on your account and change the name.

I don't think that changes it... In fact, I'm not sure you can.

If you're selling it I would erase the hard drive and reinstall the OS.

No it does. I done it on my MacMini when I bought it and on my macbook before I sold it.
