Hi all,

I am traveling to India for coming summer holidays from Australia & this is the first time I'll be traveling with my awesome MBP!! Any advice on how to take care of it while on board?
I'm planning on traveling on 1st Jan. morning after getting smashed on 31st Night.. haha.. so much of fun together!!!
Anyways, my MBP is Aussie model so is there anything I'll need with me in order to be able to use my MBP in india...
I have already checked the voltage ratings on my Charger & it sas it can take 100-240 V, & when I looked on the google it says that india has 220-240 V.. So that shouldn't be a problem..(I believe!)

And any particular good software to trace it just incase if it is stolen??? This laptop & my holidays are result of my hard work form last summer holidays... So obviously I really wanna make sure that it doesn't turn into any sort of disaster for me!!!

Cheers.

you will also need some plug adaptors, travel stores in Oz should be able to get you a good set that will convert your adaptor to US, UK, Europe, China and India type mains sockets

And keep a very close eye on it at all times. Sleep with it under the pillow!

Beware of overhead lockers on planes - laptops don't like being squashed or falling out of them!

I traveled with mine from the US to AU. I bought a laptop carry bag and used it as my carry one (from the apple store). Sweet bag! I took 3 flights to get here and it made it safe and sound with me.

As for software incase it gets stolen - I purchased Undercover. Well worth it I think... http://www.orbicule.com/undercover/

I bought This One

It's got different ways to carry it, over the shoulder, as a backpack, and there's a slot to place it on the handle of another suitcase as your strolling through the airport. Lots of pockets! A nice snug fit for the laptop. I love it!

Any travel insurance suggestions?

Hey guys, I booked my tickets few days back & my travel agent asked me if I was traveling with any valuables & stuff & he suggested to me to get a travel insurance and he also tried to sell me one for 400 AU$, which didn't sound quite reasonable to me!

If you guys can make some good suggestion on that, I'd really appreciate it.

Cheers.

I would shop around on the internet. My gf got insurance for when she traveled to the states from AU. It cost her roughly $250 for a years worth of traveling. She went through 1 Cover
