Hi everyone,

I get my Macbook Pro on Wednesday and I cannot wait. I just have a couple of questions (Most have been answered by looking through this amazing forum)

First I want to instal Windows XP with bootcamp so I can run pc programs at full speed ie games. But will mainly be using my mbp for work where i will sometimes need access to IE. I will be trying out both parralels and vmware. Are these ok to run along side my windows xp bootcamp partition or could there be conflicts?

Second can I use the time machine backup process over my work network drive rather than having to hook it up to a external hard drive.

Thank for any help on these.

Fine to run alongside - I think you can even use your bootcamp partition in either vmware or parallels.

Yes, Time Machine can back up to a network drive... but only if that network drive is hosted on a machine that is also running Mac OS X Leopard and has file sharing turned on. So it's not very useful for you, I'm afraid.

That good news about the bootcamp and virtual machine thanks for the info.

When using bootcamp would you suggest installing windows being one of the first things i do when i get the mbp?

Thats a shame about the network backup. I have heard many mixed review of the timecapsule as I was considering that but I was not 100% sure it was any good.
