What is the equivalent of those plist files in windows? In other words in windows computers what would they be called? I don't recall ever having to delete a file to correct a problem like I keep reading about deleting plist files on a Mac to correct a problem and why the need to do so. I'm new to Macs and I was just curious. Thanks for a reply.

i would say that plist files are similar in function to both the registry and config files (such as .ini files).

and i'm sure you've never heard of fixing the registry, right? ;P

Okay eric, that answers my question, thanks. But it seems that in these forums so much reference and suggestions are made to deleting various plist files more than I ever had to fix or delete something in the registry in windows.
