iMac ejects all cd/dvd's...

Hello friends!

I have a 17" iMac over a year now. Recently it started ejecting every cd/dvd inserted but not only that! I connected a USB external (from Targus) cd/dvd and it worked fine for a few days and then the same thing THEN I tride an EZQuest cd/dvd external USB drive and the same thing. Has anyone encountered this problem??

Your Mac's Specs
MacMini 14.3, 8.1 & 4.1, OS 13.5, 10.14, & 10.11 & 10.6; Macbook Pro 8.2, OS 10.12.
The only thing I can think of is Sys Prefs > CDs/DVDs to see what option is selected when inserting a blank disk, music disk, movie dvd etc. I suggest too that you use a system utility like Onyx to repair permissions and check scripts.
