Ever since I started using Tiger, I used Spotlight to search for items on my hard disks. Then, because I couldn't move items to Trash from Spotlight, I tried Cmd-F in Finder (like the old OS 9, and then OS 10.3 Panther). Sorry Spotlight, you are now banished to the Also Rans.

So, how many of you use Cmd-F from Finder? If you've not used it before, I suggest you give it a try.

I use Command F, spotlight in Tiger is good, but like you say, you cannot do stuff like drag to trash, or see the file path and choose to open its parent folder instead

I am sure the find command must use the spotlight database tho
