Hi wonder if anyone can help me...

In the office I currently use a G5 Power PC with 4GB DDR SDRAM, I believe its 4 1gb sticks. And I am being given an IMac Intel with 1 GB RAM to use ( only swapping as its the 24" screen one).

My Question is could I swap over the ram in the G5 PowerPC and put it into the IMac or do i need to get some new RAM, i.e. does the Power PC use the same RAM?

I would need more than a 1 GB RAM as i am a designer and often have all the usual apps open.

Many thanks in advance

The ram speeds on an iMac G5 vs Intel iMac are VERY different. I suggest getting new ram for your Intel iMac

Oh ok, what would you recommend getting 2 x 1gb, that would be sufficient wouldnt it?

I would max it out with 4 GB: (2 X 2 GB). Go to www.crucial.com or one of the other sellers of memory and see what type your machine requires.

Regards.
