First off what iMac model do you have?It is very important to make sure you know your specs when it comes to purchasing memory.I prefer newegg.com for memory or anything else for that matter, good price and fast shipping. You can look in your manual for upgrading your memory,it is very easy.If you have the 24" model it is alot easier just to put your iMac on the edge of your desk and tilt it all the way back and sit on the floor to install the memory instead of lying it down flat on your desktop.

20" or 24" it is just easier than picking it up and laying it flat on the screen and risk dropping it.

Did you look in the manual that came with the iMac? There's a section that lays out the type of RAM to purchase and how to install it.
