I was editing a picture when all of a sudden the laptop switched to battery power and it wasn't charging. I smelled the power adapter, and burned my hands because it was hot and smelled like burnt plastic. I put the charger in the freezer to cool it off, said a hail mary and voila it works....Uhh...WHY would it randomly overheat?

I dunno, but I'd want to talk to Apple about it!

One tip. Don't place it in the freezer. The cold shock can also kill it, and going from sudden heat to extreme cold can't help. Just let it sit in the open for a bit.

Definitely call Apple about this, do you have a warranty?
