If there's not a problem with yours you don't need to contact Apple.

I managed to rip the end off mine, which was entirely my own fault and I had to buy a new one. If you were to have a faulty one, Apple would probably replace it - though I haven't heard of them being prone to failing at all.

Informed by who? If there was a problem with the MacBook power cable, Apple would have promptly recalled them.

Regards.

At least two people have confirmed that they have had the problem with the cables and had to replace them a amount of time after the warrenty runs out.
