I'm a noob switcher that transferred all my iTunes to an external HD. I followed the "iTunes for Mac: Moving your iTunes Music Folder" instructions to the tee: First I created the new folder on the external and then consolidated the library.
Now I'm getting exclamation points for songs that I know are there and I have to select the "Yes" button when it asks if I want to find them.
Here is an example of where a file would be...
Where: MyPassport:923iTunes:Steely Dan:Everything Must Go:06:Green Book.m4a
How do I get iTunes to recognize all this music now stored in the 923iTunes folder in my Passport HD????
It's about half of the 20k songs and I can't imagine having to manually search for the source file for each of them
