Network Connection trouble please help

24" iMac, duo 3.06, 500gb HDD, 4gb ram
Hi I have only recentle bought y first mac and i love it. But i cant connect to my wireless router with it. I have a belkin G plus wireless router. If I bout my mac up with windows it connects fine. When in OSX It sees there is a router there and everytime i enter the password it says connection failed.

Can anyone help? thanks

Is the password for the router WEP or WPA? Try WPA.

I agree with skaheadpunk.

You should definitely try WPA.

I don't know why but the security on a network affects the connection. Just like they said go with WPA.

If you choose to remain with WEP, try entering the full hexadecimal passkey instead of the "passphrase" you used to secure the wireless. The passphrase doesn't always translate well.
