File sharing and idle sleep?

I am planning on transferring a large amount of files from one Mac running OS 10.4 to one running OS 10.5 via my wireless network using the file-sharing option on both computers. Will turning the file-sharing options on disable idle-sleep for both computers so the transfer can be completed properly? Thanks in advance for your help!
