I wish to burn using Finder or Disk Utility. I insert a blank CD into the eMac drive. Toast opens (thanks Roxio - don't want you), no sign of the blank CD icon on the desktop. I quit Toast, eMac spits out the CD.
I put the blank CD in my external Pioneer drive. Toast does its thing again. I quit Toast, drive spits out disk. I go through the same process again using my Yamaha external CD burner.
Toast knows the disk is there, but why not the Finder?
When trying to burn photos from iPhoto, I go through the farce of Please Insert a Disk, which I do, and after about 10 - 15 seconds, the disk is spat out and I get the Cannot Locate a Burner or somesuch.
Is this a Toast takeover issue, or is there some simple explanation? There is no trouble whatsoever burning a disk using Toast.
