Still fairly new with my macbook pro, just picked up a 32g ipod itouch.

I would like to know how I could transfer some of the movies I have to my itouch. I have a ton of DVDs and would like to put a movie or 2 on my itouch, to watch during lunch breaks or whenever I get some free time at work, but don't know if I need some software in particular. Or am I just s outta luck, and can't transfer my dvds, and have to start buying those dvds that come with an additional disc for portable players???

Would appreciate any info please

MacTheRipper + Handbrake. Those are the programs you'll want for ripping the DVD to your computer then converting to a format for the iPod Touch. Not sure if they've changed / come out with a program that has both features or not, but this is what I use.

iSkysoft Video Converter is the programme I use - not all my videos came off DVDs.

You can (easily) convert them into the flavour the iPod likes, then import into iTunes and onward to the iPod next Sync.

It actually 'sounds' more difficult than it is. Movies are really neat on the iTouch. Apart from an Audiobooks limitation (ongoing problem), I am absolutely delighted with my (now old style) iTouch.

Enjoy!

MacTheRipper + Handbrake.
You only need Handbrake (I think they stopped making Handbrake and has something else in it's place, like Mediafork).
Just put in the disc, open Handbrake, then open the disc in it and convert.
That's how I converted all my porno... err...action movies:Oops:

I do mine on my PC, since it's a beast compared to the MBA. I use DVD Decrypter for the ripping and Videora for the conversion. I also record TV shows with my MCX PC and use VideoReDo to cut out the commercials and convert the .dvrms file into something useable to Videora.

I'm guessing that doesn't answer your question, but it might help someone trying to do the same thing on a PC.
