Adding RAM to my MacBook

I have a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook with 2GB of RAM. For most people this is enough but my best friend has a 3GB PC, and I would like to upgrade mine for editing movies, playing games etc. How much RAM will my Mac support, and how do I add more?

Your Macbook supports a max of 4GB of memory. It currently has two 1GB sticks inside, so to get 4GB you would need to replace both with two 2GB sticks.

You can buy RAM from a variety of places, however, as you are located in Canada, I don't know any retailers off hand to link you to. Fortunately, we have Canadian members and I'm fairly certain they will pipe in soon.

I only have a MacBook. I was thinking of getting the Pro but it was too much.

In that case, just drop the Pro from my statement above and it still applies ;P

Thanks for the tips, I never even thought of ebay, that helped.

Check the seller's feedback though, lots of scams happen nowadays. I got scammed in some Nike Air sneakers .
