Tethering works seamlessly with my Macbook and iPhone. I just run the tethering app on both my iPhone and Macbook, and it is set. I have also tried tethering with Blackberrys, and it works very well too.
Although I haven't had any experience with wireless cards, I can assume that it should work, specifically the USB type ones (e.g. from Verizon)
