I'm thinking about updating iTunes from 7.6.2 to the latest, but am curious to know if the 60 some odd MB's is going on top of what's already there, or does installation, uninstall the previous version and then install ? I guess the question stems from wanting to know if my MBP is going to continually put on weight with each app's update...

The old iTunes will be deleted and replaced with the new one, assuming its in the same place, the Applications folder and not a sub folder

good question. never thought of this.

you know i'm not sure. I never see old files in the trash after updating. could it just overwrite the old version with the new? I'm not sure.
