Hi all,
I'm a novice user on mac, and would like to access an external ftp from work. We are however behind an http proxy that needs to authenticate with a username and password. Does anyone know of a client with such a feature. I have tried normal mac ftp & proxy settings to no avial, as well as filezilla and cyberduck, as well as authproxy. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Way... way too many specs to list.
Every ftp client I can think of supports proxies. Cyberduck certainly does. It's in System Preferences > Network > Advanced > Proxies. This will work for command line FTP as well, probably most mac clients.

You may also need work to open up an FTP proxy, they may not have allowed that, so its best to talk to IT

Most FTP clients in Mac, such as CyberDuck, Transmit, only supports the Sock4/5 proxy or FTP proxy rather than HTTP proxy. For the HTTP proxy support, you may have a try CrossFTP Pro, a relatively new but good client.
