300MHz G3 iBook running OS X

Hello,

Im going to be aquairing a 300MHz G3 iBook very shortly, but I would just like to know does the 300MHz offer enough power to run OS X? I have heard alot of bad things about but OS 9, that is why I am reluctant to run it and would much prefer OS X as my OS! Thanks dudes,

Sorry for the possible stupidity of my question, but Im only a newbie pc to mac convert:D

You should be able to run OS X 10.1.5 on it. I am running 10.1.5 on a G3 Power Mac 233 MHz with no problems. I don't think Jaguar will run very well on my G3, so I left it at 10.1.5.
