Permissions differ on "private/var/log/secure.log", should be -rw------- , they are -rw-r----- .
Permissions differ on "System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.usbmuxd.plist", should be -rw-r--r-- , they are -rwxr-xr-x .
Group differs on "private/etc/cups", should be 0, group is 26.

I get that you can boot from the install disk and run disk utility, but how would older info on the disk correct these newer permission errata that pops up?

I know two of the permissions are older conflicts, but the system/library/launchdaemoms/com.apple is new to me.
What's that about?
Thanks,
Treeman

Way... way too many specs to list.
you have execute permissions on that file that you should not have..
How do you fix it? repair permissions. It's not older info, it's a set bit.. something accounts can do to the file.. basically r is read, w is write and x is execute.

personally though, I don't repair permissions unless I'm having issues.

Thanks Mike

This showed up after the most recent ITunes & Quick Time update last night.
Oh yeah,
I also installed Spores the game.
So I don't know which tripped the invalid permission.
Everything is working fine though.
Thanks again.
