How much harddrive space should I have on my Ibook with 60GB? I have closer to 40GB now and I havent installed anything. Does the OS take up that much space?

I dont know if it was ever at 60GB, I just recently noticed.

When they say 60gb, they calculate that based on 1000 bytes per kilobyte, while the computer calculates it as 1024 bytes for per kilobyte, which means a hard drive advertised as 60gb really only has 55.8gb.

The operating system takes up a lot of space, there are some other threads about it where some people have said that the OS takes up like 10gb.

Do you have iLife and everything?
