Way... way too many specs to list.
Friday sounds like it's the release date. Till then, it won't be available for download. If you follow the link it actually goes to 2.0.

Actually, Friday is the release date for v.2.1 for iPhone, the iPod touch v.2.1 is released and can be downloaded from the iTunes store. Perhaps there is a problem with your iTunes software, try reinstalling iTunes or contacting an Apple Genius or help online.

I went to the store. It was 2.0, figured it might be just me and googled it. Others with the exact same problem. That was as of about 1300mst. Right now (1625mst) it's downloading and installing ;)

I just downloaded version 2.1 for my ipod touch, but the genius portion is missing. Weird. Seems like everything else updated, including song descriptions/titles....but no genius.

my itunes 8 updated perfectly. I'm bummed!!

I got 2.1 yesterday (Im in Peru) and it updated normally. Genius is there but it says I gotta activate it through iTunes.

The backup time is dramatically faster, and the only other thing I've noticed is that when I update an app, before, the icon moved from whenever it was (say, screen 3) and appeared on the front screen, thus making me manually move it back to it's position. Now it just appears in the front screen when updating and then it automatically moves back to where it was.

My iPhone's working perfectly after the 2.1 update. I didn't have too much to complain about in the first place, just the slow-to-load contacts app and crashing web pages every now and then.

Loving it even more now though. Thank you Apple.

Yeah I had a HTC touch before my iPhone, the iPhone is leaps and bounds better.

I think the iPhone backed up by itself, but I was not really paying attention to be honest. The install went off without a hitch and I backed up after it was done.

So far so good.

One of their products - what about the Mobile.Me debacle??

I'm not quite sure what you are referring to but I had .Mac and now MM. I know MM has had some issues, but I've been using to keep my 2 Macs and my iPhone synced without any issues. I'd like to see iPhone sync for 3rd party calendars and I know Apple has now given me an extra 90 days of service for free, but I didn't see any real problems. That doesn't mean there were not any issues, I just didn't see any of them.

EDIT: So far I am seeing significantly better service at work. Normally I had 2 - 4 bars and it would drop back to EDGE on occasion. Right now I have 5 full bars and 3G, no drop back yet. I have poor service at home, but that is an AT&T issue, my house is in a shadow zone for the tower a half mile away. The phone itself seems snappier in regular use as well.

I also see that when you download App updates it doesn't move the App icon to page one of the desktop and leave it there. After the update installs it puts the App icon back on whichever desktop you had page you had it on.
