Hey im new to the forum so excuse me if this question is asked alot but i was wandering if there is anyway possible to way to make the "mirror" powermac g4 into something resembling a G5. I know the internals are setup totally different but can a G5 chip be installed? If not how can i make my powermac stand the test of time? It seems alot of new software is only G5 compatible. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Checking with Low End Mac - www.lowendmac.com - it appears that there is no cpu upgrade - G4 or G5 - available for this model at this time. That doesn't mean there won't be something available in the future. You might e-mail Sonnet or OWC to see if there is anything under development. I'm curious, what software requires a G5 and won't run on a G4?
