Need help!! how do I enter the command sudo port -v selfupdate?

Well, this is the first time I've ever been in a chat room so I'll try not to sound like too much of a newbie...

I recently got a brand new macbook (love it) that I'll be using for movies, music, etc.

I've installed Xcode3.0 and also Macports, but can't figure out how to get it all started and fine tune the machice to run

quickly and efficiently while sharing files with others...Any help out there?

open terminal and enter it. Unless I'm missing something
