I am attempting to use

SMB://xxx.xxx.xxx. to connect to my PC...It says enter user name password..

I did, however I don't have a password, so I left it blank. It did not work.

I then went to my PC and created a password, then entered it in to the prompt on my mac...did not work.

Essentially, all I am looking to do is access my PC's hard drives from my mac...

Anyone?

Thank you

It should just work as long as you know the username and password of a Vista user that has file sharing enabled.

However... if you go into the Vista Network and sharing centre and turn on file sharing (if it's not already) and turn off password protected file sharing.
