Ok, lets see if I can explain myself properly... A design for a 3D panel-based model I have to make requires a rectangle that, when rotated 90º and shrunk proportionately, will fit into itself either 6 or 7 times. Preferably 6, but I can work with 7 if need be. If that doesn't make sense, here's a diagram to help...

One large rectangle, made up of 6 smaller rectangles of the same proportion. Obviously my rectangle is not in proportion, if it was... I wouldn't be asking! :Smirk:

I've been trying to figure this one out for about 2 hours now... Now it's your turn to get frustrated O:)

Unless I'm interpreting this the wrong way, this only requires simple high school algebra to solve. Basically, you want a small rectangle with height-to-width ratio y:x such that when you take 6 of them and line them up next to each other, you have a large rectangle with height-to-width ratio y:6x such that the long-to-short ratio for one of the small rectangles y/x is equal to the long-to-short ratio for the large rectangle, 6x/y. Using that equation, you easily arrive at

y*y = 6*x*x
=> y = x*sqrt(6)

So you want a sqrt(6):1 long-to-short side ratio, or approximately 2.4495:1. Problem solved.
