Partioning Harddrive

Alright I have this problem, I am trying to partition my 80 gig harddrive and it wont let me, i split it in to 2 partitions and it wont let me do anything else besides clicking on "options"

what is the format of the harddrive?

cant find it but on google the is something which solves this problem its to do with writing some stuff on the console before the mac boots up. sorry i cant help u furthur
