HELP!! -- Yahoo Messenger 9.0 Beta for Mac

Hey I'm new to Mac. I've just bought Mac Version 10.4.10

and today i downloaded newer version of Yahoo Messenger for Mac, which is 9.0 Beta. But when I launched it, it says "the followng disk images failed to mount" with the reason "not recognized". I've experienced this one too when I downloaded Windows Live Messenger (WLM), and all I did was just to put the WLM into the trash, dragged it out of the trash, launched it again, and it worked ( I mean the installation worked ). I tried to do the same thing with YM but it didnt work. Anyone has any suggestions what should I do with this? Thanks a lot

yahhoo messenger 9 beta is for windows
Mac is 3 beta

oh.. but on Yahoo Page, it said "Yahoo Messenger 9.0 Beta for Mac" and the file was ".dmg". thanks anyway

No, it's Beta 3. 9 is for Windows XP and Vista. I just grabbed the latest beta. Here is a Screen Shot.

If you are on a Mac when downloading, this will take you to the download page for the OSX version.

dTravis.. question

Hi..Would you explain a bit more. I have been following the link as above a few time. the Mac tries to download but it doesnt take it..
Any ideas ?
Mac 0S X 10.4.11

I Get the same message. It say 'Download for Mac 9.0 but only offers 3.0 Beta

Any help would be great

Beta 9.0 is for Windows. It's an .EXE file. .EXE's run on Windows. OSX does not run .EXE files. You want Beta 3 which is for OSX.

EDIT: I just tried to again download the OSX version Beta 3 and it took me 3 tries. Server gave up twice. They (Yahoo) are having issues so retry the download if it stops 1/2 way like mine did 2x. Never happened there before and does not normally. Remember Beta 3. Not Beta 9. Beta 9 is for XP and Vista.
