Is there a program that allows Me to go through a bunch of pictures in full screen view and easily delete the ones I don't like? This would be useful for before an import into iphoto, to weed out the ones that i don't like without wasting hd space? Then one the photos are in iphoto i can tag them etc.

This might not be what you are looking for but have you tried viewing them in Cover Flow in Finder? It isn't quite full screen but pretty darn close if you drag the viewer slider down to the bottom of the screen and close the sidebar.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried that however on a 24in screen it doesn't go fast enough for my liking. There is a program called Phoenix Slides which is a great photo viewer but it doesn't have an easy delete button. I am looking for something like that.

You can do this in iPhoto, You will of course have to import the photos into iPhoto first. To do this double click on the first picture and from the view menu select Full Screen. You can then press backspace to delete the ones you don't want. You can also use the keyboard short cut Command + F after you have double clicked on the first picture
