So my wife just got a Scion, and it's got the proprietary Ipod connector in the console. I've done some poking around the net, and there's a bunch of companies that I've never heard of selling connectors for it. They're all $150+, so I'd rather get some opinions on them before I buy one. Does anybody have any experience with these connectors? What do you use? What do you like about it? What don't you like? Is it better just to use the AUX in?

We bought a 2008 used. Maybe the dealership/previous owner parted the cord out for extra profit...

My guess is that the previous owner just lost it. Check the manual and see if it's referenced there. If it is, go back to the selling dealer and tell them that you were unable to locate it. They should replace it, if they're worth their salt.

Yes, it comes with a cable to connect to the dock connector in the console. Either contact the dealer, or look at some of the scion message boards to obtain a replacement - use that, not an AUX, to be able to control the iPod through the head unit. I have the tC with a nav system and love both - the iPod controls and the sound are fantastic.
