synching calendars problem

I've been having trouble synching my calendars from my brand new mbp and my new ipod touch. it'll synch the events well enough but it changes the colors of my calendars from one to the other and also has decided to add a new calendar that wasn't on my computer. does anyone know why it would be doing that or how to make them sych so they're the same color and calendars? thanks so much!
