ibook shutoff when I connect to charger??

Mac Pro 14gb ram 24" LED Cd & 23" Cd
Has anyone had this problem? Also, I added an account, it asked me to log out and log it to take affect. Right after it booted up once it shutoff on me again. just blank screen, had to hold down power to shut off??

It came with leopard installed but no disks, would it help to re-install the os or do you think it's hardware issue?
