Apple VGA Display Adapter???

I just bought an iBook refurbished through Apple and it came with that vga display adapter. The problem is, it doesn't seem like theres any way it will possibly fit into the port on the iBook. It definatly connects the other side to VGA but the port that goes into the computer does not match up with the vga port on my iBook. Is it possible that there are 2 different types of these adapters and I have the wrong one? Maybe one that is to be used on a Powerbook or something?

I just looked at it again, and maybe its possible that this is a mini-dvi to vga adapter, the connection pin on it kinda looks like a stretched out C
