I'm thinking about getting a new video editing program, something better than iMovie but still affordable. As much as I'd love to get Final Cut Pro, I have neither the means nor the means to get the means to buy it.

So you guys tell me. What's a good program that won't suck my wallet dry?

Out of the two you listed in the heading, FCE is the cheaper one. Of course you have to figure out what your needs are. I think Premier comes with some extra tools, but if you don't need them, then why suck you wallet dry.

My bad. I meant Adobe Premiere Elements. All right, thanks for the input. Are there any other decent programs out there? My needs really aren't that complicated. I'm just interested in something snazzier than iMovie.

I think Premiere Elements isn't available for the Mac.

Oh really? I guess I assumed it would be since Photoshop Elements is.

Well I'm really leaning towards Final Cut Express. Anyone know any places to find it cheaper than $200?

Yep, last week I bought a brand new, unopened Final Cut Express off of eBay for only $140. Pretty sweet price, should be here tomorrow. Thanks for all the advice.

I've ben using FCE 4 for about 6 months now.. and I just recently started using it with my new Panasonic AVCHD camcorder (HDC-SD9). No probs whatsoever with importing, editing, or output of video. Good times!

Cheers!
Patrick

PS: Invest $40 in the Apple Pro Training book for FCE4. You'll find it indispensable. I definitely do!
