I just got a macbook pro 15 inch 2.4ghz and when running XP sp3 under bootcamp the temperature would get up to 70 degrees celsius and maintain there. The problem is that it goes to this temperature with just 1 file donwload, msn messenger running in the background. If i put my ear up to the computer i hear a very very quiet hum of the fan. But it maintains at 70 degrees.
In OS X it also gets up to this temperature but that's with a few applications running. Similarily the fan also doesn't spin very fast and it doesn't seem to cool down unless i use SMC fan control or an ice pack.
So is this normal?
